As part of the First-Gen College Student Celebration Week, this free one-day symposium is open to all U-M staff, faculty, and administrators. The symposium will focus on supporting and celebrating first-generation students while fostering professional development, collaboration, and inclusive practices across our campus community. Throughout the day, participants can attend workshops, panel discussions, keynote speakers, receive First-Gen swag, and more! Join us for an exciting day of networking and resource sharing.
Registration will be limited to 150 people. We will start a waitlist once we reach this number and follow up with everyone prior to the Symposium.
9:30 to 10 AM – Check-In
10:30 to 11:30 AM – Keynote
12:00 to 1:00 PM – Program Director Panel
1:10 to 1:55 PM – Concurrent Sessions
Please note that the symposium will take place on Election Day (and Ann Arbor Public Schools are closed).
The Michigan League will also serve as a polling location. Please keep in mind that the area may be busier than usual. We encourage everyone to allow a little extra time and plan ahead for potential delays.
