My parents had me at 20. My mom later obtained her GED, but my father never graduated from high school. Growing up, my life was heavily influenced by teachers. My parents often encouraged the exact opposite of what my teachers were encouraging me to learn. Thankfully, I listened to my teachers. Reaching back to those days helped to center me into the person I am now. During my undergrad years, I faltered due to mental health and the inability to turn projects in on time. Today, I strive to make the most of my experience, even if my mental health forbids it.
