First-Gen Week celebrates the different ways that first-gens trailblaze and highlights resources on campus for students who are the first in their families to go to college for a bachelor’s degree. Whether it’s by being the first in the family to go to college or by taking on leadership roles on campus, first-generation students pave the way in many ways on campus. A University of Michigan first-gen is part of a community of over 4000 other first-gens and that is not including staff and faculty who were themselves first-generation.
